VAR is here to manipulate results far more readily than you could in any other way.

Liverpool should be chasing this game, and VAR has ensured they have the leg up that is akin to Rag pens. Good goals chalked off and dubious pens given at one end of the pitch. What have you to say about that disallowed goal, Riley?

So what is the actual process in that situation? The ruling on the field is offside, so VAR then has to confirm that decision. But this isn't a case of whether the player was offside or not, which VAR treats as objective (down to the millimeter), but whether the player was interfering or not. So who makes that call? The referee or the assistant? And can VAR overrule whether the on-field officials deem a player to be interfering or not?
