Premier League Games 18/19/20/21 August '23

Not sure anyone hated him, he’s just extremely frustrating. You see him play like he is today and you can see a world class forward.

Then next week, he’ll have 4 one on ones, fall over and miss them all.

Everybody would have been happy to keep him if he wanted to stay as a squad player. No way were we going to up his wages to what he supposedly wanted though.

Regarding encroachments on penalties, are you encroaching when any part of your body is on the line or inside, or when all parts of your body are on the line or inside?
When your feet are over the line on the floor.

Hardly ever injured and a truly good player, his finishing in the last couple of seasons let him down though.
We (family) would discuss City players when he was with us and at his best, funnily enough, not one of us ever said would we put our mortgage on Sterling to finish a move on a one on one with the goalkeeper but, we’d all agree he would be in the first 11 all of the time. I was disappointed when he left.

Pep’s cunning plan to reduce the length of our matches.
  • No substitutions
  • Only score 1 goal
  • No medics, let the players sort out knocks themself.
We will start to notice other teams playing excess minutes whilst we just play normal ones. The rest of the league will be fucked by the time we get to the sharp end of the season.

Wouldn’t be so sure.. let’s not forget he lost his way the past few seasons at club level but he was hardly ghastly and prior to that he was one of the most effective wingers in Europe for a number of years. Throw into the mix even when he was off at club level he was one bad result against Italy at being the main reason for England winning their first major trophy in over half a century.. and would likely to have got player of the tournament. If their football under Poch suits his style, he may well put up great numbers this season and be one of the standout players in the league again.

I always liked him and would like to see him to do well. Obviously not at the expense of our success though.

One to watch and see how it pans out,but you’ve got to remember this,he left us as Pep wouldn’t guarantee him more starts, which tells us all we need to know

He’s running at a let’s face it a pretty ragged West Ham defence, but I’ve admitted he’s playing well, probably best since he went there, but he also had games like this for us…..sometimes
