I think the Arsenal attackers took it too literally when Emery told them to aim for the stars.

When you consider Pep's specific requirements for a pivot player and we
only had 1 target, it’s hard to understand why we didn’t match the deal for Jorginho. I get the principle but it could be a big mistake.

Thing is, you go against your principle once and then the question becomes why can't you do it again. Being principled can bite you in the foot, but it's vitally important you stick to it.

Kante is completely out of place in that forward role. He also has no left foot and that has already let him down twice.
