Premier League Games | 18/19/20 Oct '25

Nah, our team that won in 89 and coined the phrase '1 nil to the Arsenal' was the biggest cure for insomnia the top flight has ever seen

No it didn't, it started around '94. 89 side was top scorers in the league, both 89 and 91 winner had better midfielders than subsequent teams. When we lost them and we started playing more negatively was when the team got boring.

Fulham have been such a nothing team for so long now

Never look like challenging for Europe, never in danger of going down, not particularly entertaining, mildest of atmospheres at their games
And they have never won a major trophy in their history, despite being the oldest club in London.

They've officially replaced Palace in that role.

We've played at Anfield, Old Trafford, Newcastle and also played City. In 11 matches this season the only time we've conceded in open play was Haaland. Probably kiss of death but I'm bored watching this as I just can't imagine Fulham will score.
Last time I looked Newcastle and United are in the bottom half and are playing awfully football

The fact we played that stupid high line and gifted them an equaliser when we foiled their set pieces all game still pisses me off big time, utterly brainless play.
It wasn't a high line it was a foul on Nico that caused the goal

Ok I stand corrected on the one nil chant but that 89 side had Alan Smith as the main striker whereas the 94 side had Ian Wright who was a top striker

Both teams we usually struggle against, as are West Ham and Fulham. We've won against all 4 this season, last season we lost 2 and drew 2 in the same fixtures.
You have also failed to beat the two teams that should be challenging you for the title. And once again this new striker you brought in that was the missing piece has been absolutely anonymous.

Sure. But we lost to a worldie at Anfield (where we drew last season) and otherwise were untroubled. And against City a draw was the least we deserved (we won last season). It wasn't the games against the challengers last season (or the season before) that did for us. It was the draws and losses against the low block teams and up to now we've been able to get through them.

Still too early in the season to make any calls on which way it will go, but up to now I'm pleased firstly with how hard we are to score against and secondly the number of options we have off the bench. Will that lead to a trophy? No idea but we've had Havertz, Saka and Odegaard injured already and last season that would have been a disaster. This season we've been able to bring someone in off the bench who can do a good job.

For you guys I'm sure you agree that if Haaland gets injured for a long period of time that's your title chances gone. For us, I don't think there's one single player who is irreplaceable - except perhaps if Saliba and Gabriel were both injured at the same time.

I know, i know but they have the best squad & if they don't win it this season they never will.
Would be hilarious if they bottle it again though but not if Liverpool win it again.
I would rather Arsenal than Liverpool, what a fucking choice though that is ha
What would be truly hilarious is Arsenal going unbeaten all season and still failing to win the title.

Edit: Not this season though, I forgot they'd already lost one.

Think u guys are in the box seat this season. Be interesting if we’re neck and neck come Feb/March to see how arteta handles it. Really think he is your weak link, but suppose time will tell.
Wish we’d have been able to sign Rice instead of you though. Impresses me every time I watch him and he is getting better

I'm nervous about getting to March and City still being in the mix. I think Liverpool look too unbalanced and leaky at the back. City's spine of Haaland, Foden, Rodri and now Donnarumma is key. I still think you might need to add some bodies at the back in Jan but if at some stage this season the Rodri of 2 seasons ago comes back you'll have an amazing midfield engine.
