Sky trying to big up the scouse v rag game like it's the nineties again.
Funny the other week when Neville was talking about the Rags-Lpool rivalry with Scholes, and Scholes said, ‘nah it was always City for me and Nicky [Butt]’.

United and Liverpool have barely had any title run-ins with each other. Despite winning 40 titles between them, they’ve only challenged each other for the title in 3 of those 40 seasons.

City have had as many as that with each of them in the last 13 years.

Yeah unfortunately that doesn’t fit or suit the media narrative..

Spot on. It only became a rivalry during the sly era. Whisky nose banged on about knocking the dippers off their perch. Sly picked it up and then history was re-written that those 2 vermin clubs had been going toe-to-toe since the dawn of time.

Cnuts the lot of them.

I think it heated up with Ferguson saying he wanted to knock them off their perch. Then it was just a case of the rags catching them up then overtaking them, until last season.

We all know we are both teams main rivals but Sky have to do the PR to promote the RyanAir derby. Wonder which team Oliver will favour today as much be confusing for him to have this match
