I won't get tired reminding people that rotation is one of the most complicated and "sensititive" procedures in modern football. Managers are afraid to apply it, even when they do have the "tools". Speaking about Arsenal, it's not the first time this thing happens. Knowledgeable Arsenal fans will tell you that Arteta's hesitation to rotate in the second half of the season 2 years ago, probably cost them the title. I know exactly what they mean...

Congratulations to Bournemouth and Iraola. Extremely talented as a player, unfortunately extremely unlucky with injuries. I knew he would fancy winning there. Lack of experience and a bit of personality could have cost in the end, but Bournemouth were bold, fought hard and claimed almost equal amount of possession at the Emirates, they fully deserved it...

Hope they make European football, but they will have to earn it. I like Fulham, but Marco Silva has fucked up repeatedly this season -and the recent defeat to Chelsea at home is 100% on him. They're still in the race though, so are Brighton, even Brentford are part of this discussion...

off. i have to stay off the forum on a game because otherwise the action gets spoiled. paying £26 a month for it but tbf at least i get 4k unlike the bbc who cant even be arsed 4king match of the day or the fa cup

Pep religiously rotated and its one of the reasons we often arrived at the business end of the season with a fully fit squad.

5 years later I still don't understand how this wasn't a penalty..

And ofcourse 6 years later.. the Spurs hand ball goal that knocked us out of the CL still stands..

VAR done world cup style is done right.. but the CL and PL have made an absolute mockery of it. And just think about it.. how bad do you have to be that people say FIFA is doing it the right way???

can one of the forum laws of the game experts actually please explain the aguero offside call in the spurs game.

eriksen passes the ball backwards under pressure and from point blank range it hits bernardo’s thigh and it gets deflected to aguero and he is ‘offside’ at the point it hits bernie. really at no point does any city player pass the ball intentionally

3 years later in the final valverde piles into a tackle with Liverpool defenders in the box, he ‘plays’ the ball first, intentionally, but then a liverpool player and Alison also touch it changing the direction completely and yet somehow when it rolls to benzema hes given offside, evaluated from the point when Valverde touched it. implying that anything but a clear playing of the ball intentionally is considered a deflection and therefore doesnt reset the original ‘pass’. even though both the liverpool defender and the goalie were absolutely attempting to get a play on the ball by piling into the melee.

When I say he's the best ever, it's not because I'm a City fan. It's based on a series of criteria, one of which is the rotation policy. You won't find a better application of it, trust me. Because it's extremely difficult to build chemistry within a squad of 18, 20, 22 players, that's inconceivable for most of his coleagues -who are happy enough if they can find their "best 11", or 12, or 13. And by the way, chemistry is NOT the only parameter that makes rotation complicated, there is more...

So the answer is yes. As long as he has the "tools" though. If he could trust Nico, he would have started him last night. He couldn't, which means we saw the "usual suspects", once again. If there was an energetic, experienced central midfielder he could trust, he would appear alongside Kova vs Wolves, and both Gundo and Bernardo would have stayed on the bench, thus freeing a spot for another attacking option...

The man kept winning with a small squad, he kept winning without asking, never mind demanding, more players. He kept winning while being not "expensive", do you understand what I mean? That's the "logic" that brought us here. You see, in the framework of a thin squad, rotation becomes practically impossible. Players are pushed too hard, eventually they get burned, they suffer injuries etc. It ends with self-destruction...
 
What a fantastic result! Only just seen the score. Bloody well done Bournemouth!

We can still get 2nd.
