Premier League Games 20/21/22 August '22

Wolves, Brighton and Leeds have impressed me. They all look solid.

Southampton, Fulham and Palace could be tricky on their day.

looks like Spurs, Gunners and ourselves in for the early title running. great weekend of footie.

Tuchel blaming the loss on the coaching staff didn't fly to Leeds but had to get a coach, is it so hard to say "Well done Leeds"?
Apparently it is. As expected, he also mentioned individual mistakes at the back and the missed chances upfront. He does have a point in both cases, yet I wonder how many will focus attention on his subs in 64'...

What Tuchel did there would be unacceptable even in the framework of Championship Manager I used to play. Both CMs off, two attacking minded players in, combined with a radical change of formation -and the RB moving centrally. Tommy put the nail in the coffin himself from the bench: Balance of the team, I would say its very cohesion, was immediately destroyed...

Shit like this deserve to be punished -which is exactly what happened pretty quickly, with Leeds taking advantage of the new tactical situation on the pitch: When James is found in space behind Reece (who is now out of the equation), the big man has to go out wide so as to block him. Seems the Leeds player is taking his time, yet Chelsea's defensive transition is a joke. When the cross is finally delivered, the numbers in front of Mendy are not right: 3-0, game over...

14 minutes later, sensing the danger of a forth goal and further humiliation, Tuchel will introduce Chilwell -who enters the pitch making the signal of 5 at the back. A clear admission of his childish mistake, another one came post match: "I shouldn't have done it". Too little, too late...

A couple of hours later, City will find themselves two goals behind vs Newcastle. For reasons associated with the squad's limitations, already demonstrated after just 3 match days, Pep made no subs. But I will comment on that on another post. The thing is, Guardiola trusts his team -and I understand him completely. Neither him nor his boys on the pitch panicked. The quality of our game was there for everyone to see -so was our mental strength. But the manager has been working towards specific directions for years, such stuff are already cemented in our DNA (even though the identity of the team was shaped very early, after just 2-3 months). In a highly complicated situation, against competitive opposition away, we responded in an organized manner (like we have done numerous times), made it 3-3 and deserved to win the match, fighting like warriors till the last moment...

Tuchel did react. But, as I said, instead of surprising opposition and helping his team, he literally fucked it with his intervention. Against a Leeds side that cannot be trusted defensively, Chelsea kept attacking without a clear mind -and their composure was already gone long before their new CB received idiotically that second yellow...

The guy is a ****, a hypocrite AND a clown, but I don't doubt his ability. With Mount dropping back (assuring a numerical advantage in midfield), Reece becoming an extra man advancing unmarked from behind and other stuff, handling Chelsea's proposition could present difficulties. But like Liverpool, they need to maintain intensity in their game. A basic prerequisite. Without that element, they can become ordinary, again the same with Liverpool...

As I said, Tuchel is a ****. Also a poor loser. That is his nature. When things turn bad unexpectedly, he can lose his head, reacting irrationally (which occasionally leads to self-destruction): The story of yesterday's match. As much as it's killing him, unfortunately for him on this occasion he cannot turn to officials for excuses...

Can't wait to watch sky sports rolling these two turds in glitter for 3 hours.
I'm going for Neville mentioning the glazers at least into double figures and carragher mentioning the tramps have the best goalie/centre half/forward/team in the wirld at least double that.

And all this whilst Micah just sits there and laughs for the full programme.
