Getting the ball won't necessarily save you. If you're seen as recklessly endangering an opponent, you can still be punished, even if you get the ball. And he went in with both feet off the ground. These days, if you tackle like that, you're playing with fire. How they eventually got to the decision (whether Taylor was in the ref's ear) is another matter. But, for me (under the present rules), it's the right decision.
