Premier League Games 23/24/25 June

Maybe it’s because I was there in the flesh so to speak, but I wonder did Sky ever treat our last two title wins like a wankfest as much as they do with these.

Tomorrow night at ten we have a Liverpool title winners special if City don’t beat Chelsea,so what if we do win, build it up to next Thursday, then what if City win again ? Just delay this special programme a bit further ?
Makes me fucking sick, just disappointing in how the league went this time around, and knowing deep down that we are the better team, and loads of scousers know it as well although won’t admit it

Who was representing Palace on the Sky coverage tonight?

Barring a miracle, the top four next year will be us, you, Chelsea and United. The four clubs with the biggest budgets will almost certainly prevail.

Yes, I’d tend to agree. That said, if Leicester keep hold of their players and bring one or two in, they’ll be right up there. Spurs will only get better too, I’m not Mourinho’s biggest fan but if they bring in a gem or so, they’ve enough quality there already to make a big push. Mind you, it’s also the case that we’ll both bring in players ourselves. Whether that widens or narrows the gap remains to be seen though.

Sometimes being miles in front takes the excitement out if it
Agree with that. 2018 was probably the least enjoyable, if that’s the right word, of the four recent titles, as it was a procession for most of it so lacked any real drama. Obviously the fact that 100 points was unprecedented, and the buzz of Jesus’ goal at Southampton, made it special in its own way, but there’s nothing like the thrill of a proper title race.

When the Dippers win a game , its how great they are , when we win a game its how shite the Goons/Luiz and Burnley/Dyche are , the media dont even try to hide it now.

the tail of the tape hahahah
credit is never spoken when manchester city are winners ? but the money ? so called empty stadiums ? uefa FFP ? all come rolling of the lips from the media. and how many city players have won the PFA top award over the last ten years ?? vinny kompany 4 premier league titles 5 league cups 2 fa cups best defender in england and well sorry you play for city ??

never let them fool you they say ? and they will knife you in the back as soon you turn around ? only united have the winning silverware records over a ten year period like manchester city have had ? and go and check the PFA records and the media wankfest is incredible

the media should be bowing their heads and talking about manchester city as this super club 2nd to none ? most of the modern day the records broken first club to win the league with 100 points. first club to win all 4 domestic trophies in a season and retaining the title ? come on please give credit where credit is due

The media have nothing to do with the PFA awards, it’s the pros who are voting for them. I’m surprised that Kompany hasn’t won it before though, I thought he had.
There is a perception in the media that the money you’ve spent in the last decade diminishes your achievements. I don’t subscribe to that personally as I’ve said many times on here. It takes far more than just money to achieve what you’ve done. It’s the right manager with the right players at the right time. Of course the money helps but all top teams have reasonably strong resources. I honestly believe that the media’s real issue is with your owners rather than the football club per se, but I’ll happily swerve that argument, that’s a whole other debate. But you’ve definitely racked up some superlatives in the press, especially in the last few years, for what’s happened on the field. And rightly so. The winning of last years title for example was an incredible achievement.
