To be fair, Frank has always done that. It does get them goals, but he surely needed to be more cautious in the first few minutes at Anfield.

It wasn't just the way they set up, it was also about what they did once the ball was turned over. If you're in that situation, you do not try and intercept the pass, you just have to concede the ball and drop off immediately to make sure they don't get in behind. But they lingered up the pitch trying to intercept it twice - and failing twice - which was just long enough for Liverpool to get runners going.

If you look at the starting positions, the defenders have a good 10 yard head start on Diaz. He should never be ahead of the last defender if they recognise the danger early and just drop off.

It was a foregone conclusion before kick off. Brentford doing what every team seems to do there and play right into their hands by tactics they never seem to play anywhere else. They'll have some chances, fuck them up and get caught like they did on the first goal. The atmosphere is as flat as fuck after that staged start.

A stat that is never, ever spoken about. When you think that they have stats for every other thing, it must be known.

What is the %accuracy of free kick shots at goal.

1. How many are on target.
2. How many end up with a goal.
3. How many miss the target - that includes hitting the bar.

Sick to death of seeing free kicks where they take 5 minutes to line it up, the free kick taker stands like he's posing for a statue.....then balloons it.
