Messi's goal was via goal-line technology I imagine, a tried and tested system that nobody would want to get rid of. Ref gets an instant yes/no I think.

Agree about VAR though, football is simply better without it.

The pass to Lautaro was on the very border of offside. I imagine the linesman would’ve likely flagged to save himself the whole rigmarole of letting an offside goal in. But then he could’ve gone the other way and left the flag down anyway. It’s just a (rare) benefit of VAR that he wasn’t forced into that decision.

Goal-line technology is arguably the best new feature introduced to football for years. It’s quick and non-disruptive - everything VAR isn’t! Haha

Is Jesse Lingard really so much worse than Man Utd’s other options? I did wonder why they got rid.

Dont underestimate the hate between Leeds and Manchester.....they are always extra motivated when they play us

Plus our performances before the WC were subpar despite the majority of results.
