This is the perfect example of why fans should be patient with Pep.
Klopp had 3/4s of a season to settle in and Liverpool never looked like challenging for a CL spot last season. There were promising signs for them, most notably when they played us off the park and then Klopp brought his own players in.
Now they have adapted and are looking like a top quality menacing side.
Pochentino had a similar slow start at Spurs and now they are a fantastic side.
Conte is slightly different at the moment in the sense he has hit the ground running. That said, he did inherit a title winning side who lost faith in their manager, all in their peak years and added the best DM in the PL.
Under Pep we have had some very good results and are still a work in progress. However, he is trying to adapt his style to a group of players who who are aging and past it. Let him bring his own players in and then judge him.
Games last yesterday are going to be a key feature of Pep's reign. Teams will keep it tight against us and we might struggle to break them down for large periods. However, they will tire due to our constant possession and the breakthrough will come.
People might say we were lucky and Hull were spirited, yet I'd say we were professional and good value for our lead.
