just sums up the last few years of officiating they have had. So far this season a penalty incorrectly awarded v Leeds, a Leeds penalty denied and a nailed on red not given.

If that happens after the first 5-10 mins have elapsed, then it’s a red. Referees let pretty much anything go at the start of the match. Why, nobody knows, but there’s practically no rules during the initial 5 mins or so.
