Premier League Games 27/28/29 October

Didn't think it was a pen but I don't think there is a forward in the world who doesn't go down with that contact and I don't blame Martial though I've seen Sterling booked for less.

Oh I understand that and there is slight contact but watch him jump in the air throwing his arms out.

100% agree with this. Would go one further, even if player goes off injured, it’s tough luck.
With serious injuries, injury time can be as long as 10 minutes. In fact, the longest injury time in England this decade was 23 minutes. This is why this rule change would be unfair and will never happen.

Not even discussed on Sky at HT. Ref forgot the rules, out of control with intent = Red, didn't even get a yellow.
The rules don’t say anything about bring ‘out of control’. The criterion for red is actually ‘the use of excessive force’ but Young certainly met that in my opinion. Didn’t even get a yellow though.

And Smalling, already on a yellow, was quite possibly reckless (the criterion for a yellow) when he gave away their penalty.

just have it like rugby where they have subs as the game continues they wouldn't fuck about then

Players fake ‘serious’ injuries to waste time.

In the 23 minutes first half injury time in 2001, in the game between Bristol City and Brentford, the delays were caused by a broken leg, a dislocated shoulder, and concussion. Three different players. To the best of my knowledge, these injuries weren't faked.

I think the times when players go down to fake injuries is to break up the momentum. The so-called 'added time' used to be called injury time and the ref would stop his watch and it was clear that injury time was added. God knows what happens now. There are CL games where not one jot of time is added on at the end of the first half, not one second, regardless of what has happened. I even thought at one point in one CL game this season that he would add on the time at the end of the second half!!! Football is becoming a sport where so much of what goes on is nowhere near as transparent as it could or should be! I'm not exactly scratching my head wondering why!

In a game that is ten times tougher too.

They should just take the timing off the ref and have someone on the sidelines who stops the clock every time the game is stopped. I reckon the game would be 20-30 mins longer initially until sides decided to cut it out.
