Premier League Games | 29/30 November '25

Ahh the bridgeno1 wobble. Not seen one for a while. Well, since the last time you dropped points. Lovely to have you back.

A team confident and authoritative doesn’t look a 10 man gifthorse in the mouth and fanny about scrabbling around for a point. They go and win that game and put Chelsea’s ambitions to bed.

There’s been a lot of talk in the media about how Arsenal have already got this title won. Well, I’ll tell you this - City have been absolutely dogshit for most of the season yet are only 5 points behind you. On that basis alone, you aren’t that great. City teams of recent seasons would’ve had this Arsenal side for breakfast.
I doubt your last 2 sentences. The last 2 City sides to win the league pipped Arsenal fairly narrowly (or at least the last City side that won a couple of seasons ago anyway) and this Gunners side is far superior to those Arsenal sides. The Centurion team would have buried this Arsenal team though.

Btw 'only 5 points behind' is after 13 games. Extrapolating forward that's a 14 point deficit over a season. I mean we're 'only' 8 points ahead of 5th. It's a meaningless statistic a third into the season. We're not statistically safe from relegation yet!

And that's with Arsenal's main attack force being out for a lot of the season and today playing 2 rookie CBs. Plus you've played an extra home match compared to Arsenal.

Who knows how the season ends, still so early.

Has had Sakas measure in their last few meetings now.

Btw Saka hasn’t kicked on has he? No way can you say he is a better player than he was 2-3 years ago
Shame none of those meetings have translated into wins then.

Re Saka not having kicked on, I'd tend to agree. But part of it is the surprise element has gone and teams double up. But that happens with many players.

We were 5 points behind liverpool after 6 games, check where they are today, 5 points is nothing, we've won a title after being 8 points behind with only 6 games left.
Which is exactly the point I was making - it's too early in the season for it to be meaningful. 5 points ahead with 5 games to go is far more meaningful.

Your wobbling that much you’ll need to change your name to Jellyeno1.

You do realise “extrapolation” is an abstract concept which relies completely on “things staying exactly as they have been so far”? Football doesn’t really work like that.

Who’s this “main attacking force” you refer to?

“Rookie centre backs”? You mean Hincapie who has over 100 Bundesliga appearances and 50 international caps? And Mosquera who has 4 seasons in La Liga and has been playing for Spain since the U15s?.

Keep wobbling big lad.

I mean rookie in the Arsenal setup. I mean you guys have signed players with lots of matches in top leagues and international caps (Marmoush, Cherki, Reijnders etc) and they haven't exactly settled into top form yet enough to be trusted as regular starters or where you don't notice a drop off when they come on. And those 2 it was their 1st league match together.

And re extrapolation, do you think if City played every game moving forward in the same way they played the previous 13 that you'd end up less than 5 points behind?!!? Come on man. We all know City can (and probably will) play better but let's not pretend this is Arsenal being chased by a top notch City side of the past.

Marmoush and Reijnders are wank mate. Shocking buys. Simple as that.

You’re spot on this is not a top notch city side, so stop wobbling.

Your CBs might have been having their first outing together but come on they were up against 10 men, one of which was Liam fucking Delap.

Rewind to Gundogan’s first season with us and his reviews were similar to Reijnders are this season.

Whether Reijnders can transform into Mr Whippy 2 is yet to be seen, but all midfielders struggle initially in a Pep system.

Perhaps I am in the minority but I would certainly classify the European Championships final as a pretty big win.

James is a fine player but misses too many games.
Sideshow Bob can be very good but also awful. I think that he would have done well for us if he had signed for us instead of Chelsea but I am happy with O'Reilly.
I think Chelsea have a lot of young, fit players and that allowed them to do weel when down to ten. I think they lack quality up front to win the title.
Sideshow has flourished in the same FB role at Chelsea Pep created for Cancelo and Potter adopted for him at Brighton .He's so so defensively but can loose it , will run all day and is fearless . But then he does have two filthy midfielders to hold the line as he prances up and down the left . That's where we need more bite. Agree it was great to see Reece James in full cruise control , a rare sight these days .
