His arm was across and pulled him back in full stride, throwing him out of the sprint. If you watch the replay from ahead of the ball, you’ll see that the Brighton players run remained straight, the ball was well past Mac Allister before he arrived, and the Liverpool player’s run was actually slanted to go across the run of Adingra, who was about to break past and in on goal. If Mac Allister had gotten there a bit latter and pulled him back it could have been a red.

Not playing the ball, only playing the man, and stoping him from going 1v1 with the keeper.
