Premier League Games 30/Sept & 1/2/3 October '23

I don’t think that’s a red when you keep looking at that. His foot skidded off the top of the ball. Looking at it from a strict neutral (although I’m not) Don’t like either of them, if that was a City player, I‘d be saying not a sending off.
It’s a red when you look at the still the ref was shown. I believe he made his mind up on that. Don’t they usually start the clip from the very beginning of the play?

For me it’s a red either way.

Neville absolutely dying for his fellow Redshirt to overtake us at the top of by league.

That was dangerous play, while it wasn’t necessarily excessive force in the initial lunge and it was a result of bounding up off the ball. It could have been a booking but I can see why it’s a red card because he does go over the ball and endangers the opponent.

Doesn’t matter if he didn’t mean it. The word ‘intent’ is not in the laws for a sending off.

Second week in a row where Gary Neville is shocked and appalled by what seems like a fairly straightforward decision.
Almost every game I heard him commentate on this season he has made similar statements “that’s never a penalty” “that’s never a red card” etc., and the people who actually make the decisions hVe disagreed with him.
