Neville absolutely dying for his fellow Redshirt to overtake us at the top of by league.

That was dangerous play and while it wasn’t necessarily excessive force in the initial lunge and it was a result of bounding up off the ball. It could have been a booking but I can see why it’s a red card begsuse he does go over the ball and endangers the opponent.

Doesn’t matter if he didn’t mean it. The word ‘intent’ is not in the laws for a sending off.

The extract from the laws has me even more torn. The foot was definitely high and he definitely caught the opponents shin, but was it “excessive” or “brutal” ? I am not sure there was “excessive force“ either but it was potentially a leg breaking tackle (even if accidental) so I guess it did “endanger the safety of an opponent”

I’m glad I don’t have to make those decisions.
