I'd love you to be correct but it ain't happening this year. We're papering over the cracks, we started with an undercooked squad after the Euro's then the injuries, especially to Rodders have taken their toll.

Others like Foden, Akanji and Walker have not been at the requisite level, it's a perfect storm for us to have a tough season and the World Club Tournament won't do us any favours. I hope we finish top 5 to get CL football next season but I just don't see it.

No, it ain’t happening this year, however the league is weak this season (look at Forest, reminds me of the Leicester title season - in terms of form not title credentials), so to rule out top 5 is overtly pessimistic in my eyes.

I'm not completely ruling it out but with the run of games coming up we could be out of the top 5 chase by the end of Feb, 2 qualifiers in February for the CL won't do us any good either.
