He did actually make contact with Benteke (watch the replay/analysis; Delaney's knee), but it was extremely minimal. Very soft penalty.

And if there was contact, it was purely accidental with no deliberate intent.

How has football got itself into a position where a striker goes down in the area after the minimal of contact for a guaranteed penalty? At worst that is no pen, at best a booking for diving. A rule change or referee directive is needed here. Don't get me started on our penalty decisions!
