As soon as he betrayed Pep and Txiki by telling them he wasn’t leaving City and then meeting with Arsenal in secret (but followed by the paparazzi so was found out) behind their backs, and left us to go to that stinking club; I’ve never wanted him back anywhere near us.

Footy fans are fickle. Not saying Vieira should succeed Pep, but he surely does a good job at Palace.

But let's be honest, we're probably not hiring someone who hasn't dragged a team to a few trophies.

It's a huge jump from managing Palace to getting the gig here. Specially as he's only been managing (in the PL) for less than a year. But if he keeps improving at a similar rate next season, and Pep doesn't extend, then who knows what summer 2023 could bring.
