I genuinely think it is because managers are beginning to really see how much of the officiating is stage managed each match—specifically favouring the cash cow clubs and certain narratives outside of those—like WWE events, and the league are trying to put them in their place and keep them quiet.Lots of reds for managers lately
Even in this Spurs-Brighton incident, it was over the Brighton goal being ruled out. Wolves manager has been suspended. It’s almost always the manager complaining about the officials. They’ve even been dishing out fines for manager and player comments, as well.
I think it will come to a head next season if the league continues what they are doing.
