Why can’t they just have it up on the big screen for everyone to see and be mic’ed up like in the rugby?

The only reason I can think of is because that would make it harder to get away with fucking City over and giving every decision in favour of the two red shits with American owners.

Owners of the tech. who licence it out should make "refs mic'd up broadcast to public and big screen replays of var decisions " a condition of usage, to protect their own image.

Having them mic’ed up would solve the problems on penalty shouts, fouls etc, when the fans are wondering why haven’t they give that? Or have they even looked at it?
Won’t help with offside though.
Mic the cheats up and at least then we’ll know why we are being cheated.

Agreed. It's better lower down the league's as less at stake.
