guessing as the ref hasnt deemed it a second yellow card offence (which a foul can be without it being a yellow card).....guess the ref believed it was a foul but accidental

He's trying to brush him off and accidentally taps him in the face. Its a contact sport, its not a deliberate hit in the face.

Im not unhappy its be chalked off, obviously I want United to lose, but thats not a foul and I suspect if it wasn't attached to a goal, the referee would never give it as a foul but hes trying to avoid controversy.

The thing is, its only a foul if it is delibrate and if its deliberate then its a second yellow.
