Premier League Games 9/10/11/12 April

Another thread about to be milked to death

I've just watched the brief highlights of Fulham/Wolves and that offside decision against Wolves was an utter disgrace. What was it? His fingernail was in an offside position?
Just what in the actual fuck have these people done to our game? Var/Pigmol, the whole lot wants a complete overhaul in the summer. Decisions like this one and the others we've seen so far are making us the laughing stock of European football, and there's sweet FA we can do about it.

Most clubs in the Premier league have been fucked over by var in one way or another (well, there are a couple of teams that have benefitted from preferential treatment but I can't for the life of me remember who they are), us more than anyone else, and yet still it goes on. We see pretty much in every game some monstrous decision that the whole world sees is wrong but the incompetent fuckers behind var see only what they want to see.

Var itself is great, I have no problem with technology ensuring the correct decision is being made: but the issue is that time and time again the correct decision is NOT being made, and that is definitely the fault of the people behind the scenes.

We've had no crowds at the game for some time, obviously, but when the doors are open again (hopefully in the not too distant future) there is a danger of an incorrect decision causing a section of the crowd to kick off big-time.
It will happen because football fans are extremely emotive about the clubs they support, and the atmosphere at some games can be extremely volatile. One major fuck-up from the referee and/or var could have devastating consequences for the game.

Its definitely up their with the Bamford one where he pointed to where he wanted the pass to go to.
Thank God FloJo wasn't a footballer as she'd have been offside for the full 90 minutes.

We've been screwed by VAR from day one, that goal ruled out against Everton as it accidentally brushed Boly's arm in the build up but last night felt like the worst yet, just glad it didn't cost us in the end but typical that Willian Jose finally scores (and a great header it was too) and its incorrectly ruled out.

Who can really want these kinds of decisions in football? Its ruining it, so much for the top league in the world.

I too feel for Fulham, would like them to stay up but considering they've played 2 games more than the others and they face Arsenal, Chelsea and United in the run in its safe to say they're done for.

They face Newcastle on the last day, be good if they were still close enough and it would be winner takes all but think it will be all over before then.

There was that Wolves match at Anfield too where the ref blew but gave their goal regardless. Then the Wolves goal was disallowed when they rewound the play back 5 minutes to find an infringement.
VAR was never going to make football fairer when the rules allow so much interpretation. Whilst penalties can be awarded after the final whistle and a player can be offside by his left testicle, VAR will be ineffective. in fact VAR seems to be helping officials legitimise their mistake.
Crouch made some good points last night- we shouldn’t be chalking off goals for players being offside by mm. The game is all about goals but instead the after match analysis is spent reviewing yet another shit decision

It all stems from Riley who was an awful and pedantic referee and now, for some reason, has been given carte blanche to impose his interpretations on the game and the referees below him are like a brotherhood who all stick together.

Maybe thr answer would be to have former players involved in the decisions

I was a huge advocate of VAR, but now I think it is genuinely the worst thing ever to happen to the game.

Players still play act and dive. Nothing happens.

Players still cheat to get penalties. Nothing happens.

Refs still get decisions wrong.

There is certainly some level of corruption in the background going on with VAR.

At least when a ref makes a mistake we all see it and call them for it.

VAR has created a masked villain who no one calls to account.

It's a monstrosity. Oh, and before anyone says it's not VAR it's those who use it. I'm sure you're also happy with the argument about guns not killing people, it's those holding the guns......
