As is often the case, he didn’t bother to run back. Would he have impacted played? Maybe not. But he still needs to come back and try.

He is great going forward, no disputing that, but he tends to be very selfish (to the point of regularly frustrating his teammates) and people ignore how he contributes to Chelsea’s overall dysfunction (which isn’t completely down to him, but he is a part of it).

You could argue he’s that good that you build a team around him. But not an elite team so he’s probably in the right place and likely a reason he never seemed to fully impress Pep.
