Here is a clear example about what I mean. This was reviewed by VAR and determined to be nothing. Yet this was a clear and obvious and reckless violence by van Dijk. He was obviously and clearly targeting Gordon who actually played well and scored one or two goals. Which is why van Dijk targeted him. Refereeing standards in the game were very, very strange and weird. Watching it live and in-game this act of what must be labeled as violence actually appeared much worse because it was very obvious that van Dijk was targeting Gordon the way he was approaching him.
