Premier League or Champions League?

Which do you want us to win more this season?

I'm across the pond... and slightly favor winning the C/L.

But realistically - we're not going to win any silverware this season - our squad needs rebuilding - and that we didn't rebuild this last summer begs the question - WTF is going on?!

I was always the Premier League, probably til the end of last season when we did 4 in a row.

I really want the Champions League this year but I feel we‘ll only progress if we sign a midfielder January.

Final is in Munich this year, class city that

It's fuckwittery, football is about tradition not popcorn and the next new shiny thing.

Some people on here sound like rags :)
If football is about tradition then why does nobody rate the FA Cup above the league title, as they did prior to the MOTD era beginning in the mid-60s?

If you think that the chumps league is more important than the league then you have to be a rag.

Who says many people don't rate the FA cup above the chumps league? And we were talking about the league here not the FA cup.

I'm not sure how many people rate the CL above the league, but if they do, that's their prerogative. Some people change - they would prefer the league most years but every now and then would prefer a CL win. My late father told me he'd love to see us win the CL once in his lifetime, having seen us win the league five times. He was at Newcastle in 1968, Wembley in 69, 70, 74 and 76, and went to every home and away game, plus final, in the two CWC seasons. He never got to see us win the CL. But I don't think he's wrong for wanting that, and I certainly don't think he's wrong because someone like you thinks they can set the terms of what is/isn't important.

In answer to your second point, I'm saying people rated the FA Cup above the league title until the mid-1960s, but as Mr Tradition, you would know that.

Anyway, league first and anything else is raggish.

I bet if you take a poll the rag types would stand out by a country mile.

We're not winning the champions league with this squad and that's if we get everybody fit. Stranger things have happened but I'd say it's highly unlikely. While Liverpool are top of the premier league they are getting away with results a bit like we were until yesterday. Brighton should have beaten them before two good finishes got them out of jail. Every team looks leggy and a bit shakey. If we can stay within a couple of points of them until we get a fairly full squad back we may pip them. Arsenal probably can't afford to lose another game even this early. Seven points behind is already a big margin, go ten points behind and they're probably toast
