Premier League Trophy Question

When the game ended on Sunday and we were awaiting the presentation, I said to my mate next to me, which clown will be the first to use the crown on top of the trophy as a hat? We discussed it but in the end no one did, and I don't remember seeing the top of it taken off.

I figured that there's a couple of reasons for this, perhaps it doesn't come off, perhaps it's because it was the replica and the top doesn't come off that, or perhaps there had been incidents in the past with it, and the top had actually been welded on. Or perhaps, the players didn't realise it came off?

Does anyone know the definitive answer? I'm sure I remember it being taken off in previous years.

There are two trophies.

One belongs to the Premier League and the other belongs to Barclays.

I got to admit mate this was my biggest worry to when the players come out to receive the trophy after 44 years, i broke out in a cold sweat hoping it wouldn't be Kompany
