I'm suprised this hasn't been done before. When there isn't a world cup or European cup, why don't Uefa organise a tournament which puts the best players of each league against each other.

My Premier League side would be:-

GK - Given
RB - Johnson
CB - Vidic
CB - Terry
LB - Cole

CM - Lampard
CM - Essien
CM - Gerrard

ST - Torres
ST - Adebayor
ST - Rooney

I personally think La Liga would batter us, but it'd be interesting to see.

I'd have Arshavin in for Rooney and Drogba in for Adebayor. Possibly Barry in for Lampard aswell since Gerrard is in your line up. Oh and take off those blue-tinted specs Cech would start over Given.

I love how everyone slates the Italian league without actually ever watching it.

Great post...but how could any league be better than our "Sooper Scintillating Shiny Sky Sports Sooper Sunday" , after all Richard Keyes and Andy Gray tell us its the best so it MUST be the best

I remember one red goon in our club saying one night after Ancelotti had (once again) totally outwitted Bacon Face and Milan had outplayed the rags "I bet that Gatusso would be ok in British footy"

When he was polietly informed the Ringo had in fact played in the UK for several seasons he was quite embarassed..but thats what your dealiing with.. Opinion based on heresay and ignorance....OK the Italian League isnt early 90s fantabulous at the mo but it's still good to watch

GK - Cech
RB - Bosingwa
CB - Vidic
CB - Terry
LB - Evra

ST - Rooney

La Liga:

GK - Casillas
RB - Alves
CB - Puyol
CB - Pepe
LB - Adriano

CM - Xavi
CM - Kaka
CM -Iniesta

ST - Ronaldo
ST - Messi
ST - Ibrahimovic

CM - Carlos Eduardo

ST - Robben
ST - Ribery

haven't seen much of Spanish football other than brief highlights of Champions League gaes, but I am surprised how well Real Madrid have started

I expected them to struggle after making all those signings.

Are there going to be any challengers to Madrid and Barca this year?
