And Obama did nothing, just caved in.
A. We were talking about whether Obama had a filibuster proof majority in the Senate, and he very clearly didn't, because of Joe Lieberman.
B. I supported a public option at the time (and still do), but it was likely never passing the Senate. In fact, reporting in August of 2009 only counted 43 Senators in favor. It likely wouldn't have matter what the President did, and the choice was either the ACA as written or nothing. I'm happy we passed the ACA as written given that choice.
