So do you get compensation if you book your hotels/flights etc pre-tournament in what was to be your allocated venues and Trump in a fit of pique changes a venue/venues?

Probably not. You can get "unexpected-event travel insurance" - but that might exclude events that could be expected, and Trump has just announced he could do it, so it wouldn't now be unexpected...

I didn't think Insurance Companies would cough up but I feel FIFA are responsible for this and pay compensation but of course they won't

Wasn't it given when Blatter was still president? From what I recall, the US got it largely because of the 2015 FBI investigation into FIFA, and Qatar getting chosen ahead of the US to host 2022. It was really a political move to placate the US, who felt aggrieved with Qatar's selection at their expense, and to try and get them off their back.
