President Trump

Britain, Italy and Japan are building their own 6th generation fighter, (GCAP) it's known as the Tempest in the UK. Germany, France and Spain are also building their own 6th generation fighter but they seem to be doing more arguing than anything else currently.

There's already more than 6,500 engineers working on the GCAP programme, I think it definitely gets built.

Looking more and more that fighter jets are becoming obsolete. I mean why spend so much on one plane that only carries 6/ 8 missiles and can be shot down.

Even the USA looks upon the F22 and F35 as failures that cost trillions of dollars.

The new weapon for air supremacy is ultra cheap kamikaze drones and anti drone defenses.

HS2 and Northern powerhouse says let Britain build it...

Hopefully but in spite of the international partnership agreement and the numbers working on the programme, it’s still early days.

Swarms of drones are for tactical battlefield use. For air supremacy, low observable fast jets are still needed.

I bet his announcement tonight is a withdrawing and calling victory and pulling out of NATO. Them onto Cuba, sorry America you deserve everything that’s coming to you, Trump has done more damage to NATO in 1 year than Putin in 25, 400 million guns and not one person seems prepared to use one!
Its mad that his announcement could be any topic ranging from total withdrawal to total engagement in Iran or withdrawal from NATO or just a rant about his ballroom. Fuck it could even just be about his presidential library building. Or all the above

In a normal world there'd be a good indicator of the topic, with this mad **** it could be absolutely anything.

I saw a clip earlier of a speech Charlie Kirk gave a couple of years ago, basically outlining what he thought would happen if the Americans were daft enough to kick off with Iran. Word for word bang on exactly what’s happened.

Now I know he was a divisive character and said some problematic things but the guy was right about this.

That's a hidden side note linked to what's occuring now.

Now he’s threatening to pull out of NATO.

Does anyone honestly believe that if a NATO country were attacked, the yanks would do anything anwyay? Say for the sake of argument the Russians tried to bomb Poland, it would be the European countries coming to their aid not the fuckin burger munching donut shaggers over the pond.

He can fuck off.

And it’s an utter disgrace that the government are making Charlie go over there for this nonsense state visit. Read the fucking room Kier.
Not sure NATO or similar security guarantees are reliable for anyone in a really serious, high-casualty conflict. NATO accession is arranged between governments regardless of public support, but the public are the constituency you need to keep on side when you're sending people to die for e.g. Polish independence.

At a deeper level I think countries like Poland and Latvia suspect that they wouldn't get real combat assistance, which is why they spend so much more on defense than the rest of NATO.

Putin is definitely braking the USA without a shot being fired, Trump couldn't do it any better than he is doing.
If Trump lasts the full term the USA won't have an alliance with anyone and not a pot to piss in.
We are being fed bull shit about him being patriotic with an army of red neck supporters or trying to manipulate the markets for self gain, not buying it myself - the **** is a traitor to the USA in plain sight.

Meanwhile, everyone has forgotten Satsuma Head kidnapped the leader of Venezuela.
They've forgotten that Trump said Venezuela had stolen Americas oil.
They've forgotten that American oil companies had said that the price of oil meant it wasn't economically viable to renew the aging infrastructure.

But worst of all they are not asking at what price are Venezuela currently selling their oil and who to.

Yeah it's still early but I did read that a prototype will be flying next year. In full service by 2035 but we know how these things often go well past the scheduled date and over budget.

It needs to work because we can't buy off the yanks again, they aren't trustworthy, and the F35B delivery has been really problematic.

Polymarket have it as a 13% chance of the Yanks leaving Nato. There'd be money to make if he was announcing this. Seems remote.

Will be the same old shit. We've won, obliterated everything, Regime change done, Iran desperate for a deal etc etc. Then say we're pulling out after achieving all our goals. Probably move in to rhe ballroom then.

Let’s just hope it’s the Japanese and the Germans building it and not the Italians and the French.

The Italians can design the paint scheme and the French some quirky headlights but we don’t want either of the fuckers anywhere near screwing it together.

The “prototype” isn’t really a prototype. It’s a technology demonstrator that will be used to prove a number of technologies that will be integrated into GCAP. The aircraft itself, whilst superficially similar in looks to the GCAP is based on existing platforms using a selection of components from other platforms to keep costs down (typhoon engines as an example). Will fly end 2027 or early 2028, more likely the latter.

I don’t normally put any stock in conspiracy stuff but in all seriousness I now genuinely think he might be a Russian asset.
The fact he called NATO a paper tiger then confirmed that Putin thought that as well was a bit of a giveaway that he gets his talking points from Moscow. The fact he’s got such a downer on the UK is another giveaway as for some reason Russia really hate us. If Russia started using nukes we’d be first in the firing line which is why it’s so important we have our own independent deterrent now we can no longer trust the septics.
