The groundwork is being put in. The result will be contested either way, and if Harris wins the vote, there will not be a peaceful transition of power.I know ;-)
Think it might not happen until
March tbf!
I disagree. If Harris wins the vote, it will in part be because the majority of the electorate is to hell and done with chaos and contention in the political process. Trump won't be in the position of power as he was to marshal forces to press for 1/6 x 1000, and the appetite for that among the hoi polloi has waned considerably given the punishments meted out to those who participated in the original 1/6. What governor is taking his call? I suspect the majority of the GOP non-MAGA nutters in the House and Senate want him gone. His own inner circle has withered away. Biden (and Harris) will ensure the National Guard and law enforcement are prepared for any trouble. There will assuredly be a nutter or two -- ala Timothy McVeigh -- who do unconscionable things, but a broader battle? I highly doubt it.The groundwork is being put in. Me too!I hope you are right.
All the money is for Trump now and he's really shortening up in this last week. 4/7 from 11/8. With Harris doing the exact opposite odds wise. It’s unbelievable isn’t it. It’s genuinely insane that any rational person would consider voting for this deranged lunatic.
There could be lots of reasons for that. All the money is for Trump now and he's really shortening up in this last week. 4/7 from 11/8. With Harris doing the exact opposite odds wise.
When reading on here, I automatically think of the likes of Cletus as the MAGA stronghold, but listening to 5 Live, who are doing a tour and interviewing in the swing states, it becomes clear why so many will vote for him. There could be lots of reasons for that.
Most of those reasons are only “understandable” in the broadest possible sense that they would would be cogent for supporting a moderate Republican or Democrat that many people just had strong differences of opinion with regarding policy and desired outcomes. When reading on here, I automatically think of the likes of Cletus as the MAGA stronghold, but listening to 5 Live, who are doing a tour and interviewing in the swing states, it becomes clear why so many will vote for him.
Business men, ex-military, religious types, all giving meaningful reasons for voting for Trump. A fairly young black person who had a conservative upbringing talks about those religious values that the Democrats do not have. Small business believing that Trump will do more for themselves rather than the global Dem’s, and military type who see the strong man on the world stage. Of course, there’s the 1 in 3 Cletus, but all have understandable reasons for voting Trump.
Similar to what I found the last time I was over there.
Just an observation, mate, nothing more. There must be a reason, that I do not profess to know, why over 50% of the US voting populous would vote for him. After all, I know that you’re not all ‘dumb fucks’, and those that I have contact with, are definitely not. Most of those reasons are only “understandable” in the broadest possible sense that they would would be cogent for supporting a moderate Republican or Democrat that many people just had strong differences of opinion with regarding policy and desired outcomes.
They make absolutely no sense when you actually apply them to Trump, Vance, or really any prominent member of the MAGA movement which will most assuredly be taking cabinet and agency positions if Trump is reelected.
Just because someone can competently articulate a point that is a valid reason to support a candidate, doesn’t mean that the point applies to the candidate, in this case Trump.
The only ones that actually make any logical sense are those regarding the religious fundamentalist agenda, because they have co-opted not only the MAGA movement but also significant portions of the US justice system, with massive help from Trump et al during his presidency. And, even then, that parasitic arrangement is deeply ironic given Trump is the very definition of Godless. He is probably one of the few politicians that meet the biblical description of the Antichrist to come along in quite awhile, which makes the evangelical backing even more hilarious (and disturbing).
I would put the Cletus percentage at 80% for that reason: most aren’t intelligent enough to see that they are advocating and voting against their own interests, but some can speak as if they are, whilst still being blind to what is coming if they get what they want.
The other 20% other the Machiavellian, malicious cunts who actually will genuinely benefit from Trump taking the presidency again—they’ll say and do whatever is necessary to make that happen, including fucking over every other Trump supporter on day one of his second term, if needed.
Just to confirm, I’m not American—I’m English (Manchester) and Spanish (Zaragoza).Just an observation, mate, nothing more. There must be a reason, that I do not profess to know, why over 50% of the US voting populous would vote for him. After all, I know that you’re not all ‘dumb fucks’, and those that I have contact with, are definitely not.
And, for context, I would never look at Trump as a leader of my country, my distain for him is well known.
I understand what you say and if I thought I had any sort of influence, would say the same. What I do get is that it’s ’their’ system and if Trump gets in then it’s what ‘their’ people want.Just to confirm, I’m not American—I’m English (Manchester) and Spanish (Zaragoza).
I do live in the US but can’t vote, as I am only a legal resident, so I do my best to oppose Trump in with my very limited ability and capacity to do so these days (mostly texting outreach campaigns, action coordination, and pro bono data analytics work, as I am able).
I just wanted to add some context to your comments—I wasn’t attacking what you said or you, just pointing out that most of those articulating their reasoning for supporting Trump are doing so out of gullibility, ignorance, and/or malice for their fellow human beings (some just want others to suffer and see Trump as the way to realise that desire, even if they won’t admit it publicly).
At any rate, it’s unlikely it is 50% of the voting populous (that is, all the people who will actually vote in a few weeks) that support him (it’s definitely not 50% of all people that could vote).
But, unfortunately for the US, the insistence on retaining the electoral college—mostly through Republican obstructionism to any alternative (because it’s basically the only way a republican can get elected president at this point)—may see him win the election, anyway.
I hope that doesn’t happen. And am doing my part to avoid that outcome.
People who backed Harris at decent odds, placing a saver? All the money is for Trump now and he's really shortening up in this last week. 4/7 from 11/8. With Harris doing the exact opposite odds wise.

The problem is that most of the electorate will not seem out this sort of data. They just hear the pledge that trump will halve their energy and grocery cost within a week of taking office, and that he'll take back blue collar /manufacturing jobs from overseas and within a month America will return to the post ww2 good times.Trump seems to be getting progressively more tired, labored and unhinged in his comments, while Harris appears to be broadening her outreach, conducting more interviews and town halls and getting in front of the “free” media as often as possible.
It really is simple:
1) Tell me the POLICIES Trump has elucidated to the masses.
2) Tell me the POLICIES Harris has elucidated to the masses.
3) Tell me who sounds cogent, stable, reasonable, and not a racist bigot trying to play on people’s basest instincts
4) Which one seems presidential in demeanor, tenor and tone, not to mention language?
5) Who spouts lies with every breath?
See, it’s clearly NOT a rational decision for many people!
If you took away party affiliation, I think it would be a landslide, but people are STILL tied to their party! People will tell you, I really don’t like Trump, but I’m a Republican, so…
It’s frustrating, infuriating even, but that’s the mindset we are dealing with.
Trump courts the religious and even evangelical vote on abortion, but fails even the most basic religious or evangelical test on moral grounds. He knows NOTHING about the Bible, yet SELLS CHINESE-MADE BIBLES ONLINE!!! I wonder if they have a 20% tariff?!
Trump courts the business vote, but seemingly knows nothing about business other than tax breaks, which is how he has made his money! He clearly doesn’t understand international trade and tariffs!
In fact, if you get a chance, watch The Rachel Maddow’s Show about the so-called “business decision” to vote for Trump. It EVISCERATES the “business” argument. It was shown on Monday and is probably available on line somewhere!

It should be a no-brainer, but the no-brains crowd are on the wrong side of this one!!
If the daft cunts fall for that then they get everything they deserve, it’s just a pity that they will inflict their stupidity on the rest of us.The problem is that most of the electorate will not seem out this sort of data. They just hear the pledge that trump will halve their energy and grocery cost within a week of taking office, and that he'll take back blue collar /manufacturing jobs from overseas and within a month America will return to the post ww2 good times.
A very seductive message.
