Some people's subjective bias gives them the wrong impression.

Perhaps people should have little coloured symbols attached to our usernames.

I'd argue the plurality are centrists, possibly the majority. The leftest poster on bluemoon doesn't post on US politics that I've seen, and those you think are "right" are agit-populists that old school conservatives would be aghast at, even Pat Buchanan let alone Thatcher or Reagan.

The answer is in the phrase "America First" which is really saying "Me First". A proportion of people are wired to be selfish and that's what Trump style politics tap into. They find people who aren't like them a threat, hence the aggression. They want the right to not look after their fellow man.
 
The DC air tragedy is going to be a real test for Mango Shitgibbon.

Can he keep his gob shut and let the facts speak for themselves or will he tweet/say something that triggers Elon and his hoards of basement virgins into baseless theories it was the terrorist cell of the DEI movement.
