I read somewhere that when Hitler was planning his invasion of Britain one of the people high on his list for execution (after Churchill, etc.) was the political cartoonist David Low who had attacked the dictators all through the '30s. It’s never going to change that you can be a different politician in opposition than you can be in government to be fair.

There’s certain ones that clearly want to always be in opposition for that reason.

Sadly realpolitik dictates that obsequious sycophancy is required to give us the best chance of securing what we want in terms of trade and military support for the western alliance.
