I was more thinking he thinks like Ukraine, you cannot hold elections while at war.
His supporters won't know the difference between invading another country and being at war aren't the same etc.
So no more elections in the US...

Throw in a Congress run by a Christian Nationalist that, because Trump has given them free rein, allows Trump to run roughshod over Congressional decisions, power of the purse and even legislative oversight of both the purse and the Cabinet, and it’s a trifecta many of us saw as the end of America as we all knew and understood it!

And, as if that wasn’t bad enough, because of America’s widely considered leadership in global and military affairs, Trump’s isolationism is causing ripples, and possible tsunamis, across the globe.

Many believe his intransigence has given Putin an even greater impetus to flex, with that now stretching to Poland and the Baltics, and Xi the green light to do as he pleases with Taiwan and in the South China Sea and beyond. Meanwhile, his buddy in North Korea is getting nuclear subs from Russia, which got military personnel and munitions for its war in Ukraine in return!

And the US response from Trump???

I`m struggling to see any salvation from Trump, his supporters, the Republican Party and his backers, because this can`t all his own ideas. Although it might appear a scatter gun approach it has been quite methodical in pulling down the pillars of the constitution. IMO the new Civil War has started and it looks like there will be one winner Trump and billionaire associates, multiple losers justice, Democracy, decency,

Weird thing is a select few of his backers could bring him down. Its not Russia there would be no falls out of windows but they won't because he could sperate them from the thing they love more than life itself - $$$$$$$$$

Trump had already set things in motion and if Biden would have reversed it, tens of thousands of additional troops would have had to return to Afghanistan which was politically impossible. People blaming Biden either have short memories or don’t realise that Trump effectively signed a surrender deal with the Taliban, thereby abandoning the Afghan government which fell even before the withdrawal was complete.

As well as abandoning allies in Afghanistan he also abandoned the Kurds in Syria. Abandoning allies to score a few cheap political points is fairly routine for Trump and not enough was made of it at the time. He’s also trying his best to get Ukraine to surrender to Russia and his commitment to NATO is none existent.

At one point will the MAGA lot and the majority of those who voted for him realise they've been had over? Because this surely needs to happen before any change can occur.
 
It’s interesting that the 2nd Amendment was there for situations like this where the public defend the country from overreach by the government. Unfortunately the ones with the most guns are those that support the madness, and it seems to be only a matter of time before there is full scale deployment of Trump supporters against anyone who criticises him or doesn’t express full support.

I hope that, in spite of the toe curling state visit, our government is doing everything it can to mitigate the effect on us because short of a miracle the USA is fucked.

It’s not so much where they are now, rather than any foreseeable prospect that they can stop it continuing to get worse that’s the principal issue. I just can’t see how they can stop this death spiral.

We don't know if there will even be an election in 2028, some crisis could be made to materialize by then necessitating martial law.

Their might be "evidence" that Canadians bombed the Whitehouse, forcing an invasion of Canada and marital law in the USA...
