Another big change is Musk completely using Grok as a right wing tool for propaganda- I was checking Grok regularly and it was giving fair balanced and good statistics- it’s been completely compromised now and the answers are obvious. Might seem a small Influence in the scheme of things and if you don’t use social media - but for the many many millions that use it - again it’s more right wing maga brainwashing.

I think this is just wishful thinking unfortunately.

Trump is already a convicted rapist who tried to overthrow democracy with fake electors and was best friends with Epstein, nothing will make them care as long as they are "winning". These facebook tier jokes are exactly what his supporters enjoy, "owning the libs", it doesnt matter how stupid it is.

The only thing that will ever make them care is when things start to actually negatively affect them personally, its all just a game to them until then.

Not even then. They will blame the “other side” for every single possible thing that goes wrong for them. They are lost forever until death. Cult members. “Never Democrat.” Hopeless and beyond redemption.

Perhaps the more rational and balanced members of the GOP assert control. But who is left in leadership who has not already pledged everlasting fealty to Trumpism, or specifically owes Trump for their power?

This is exactly how it is, depressingly. Anybody here who hasn't yet flirted with Truth Social, have a look - it'll be one of the most depressing reads of your life.

You'll hear how Democrats just must be crooks - because they are billionaires. At the same time, though, Republicans must be astute businessmen, because they are billionaires.

Even if one of the administration suddenly had an attack of conscience, history suggests that the higher their erstwhile position, the more violent the hatred they'd have directed at them. There's no chance of anyone diluting the support for trump.

The only time I sensed any wavering at all was a couple of months or so ago when there genuinely seemed to be a hint of doubt creeping in because of Epstein, but that momentum has long gone.

Sadly, I think you’ve nailed it!

They’ve already changed enough that they don’t have to worry about hundreds of millions of Americans anymore!

The tax system is the one they want. They’ve been successful in gutting government and are actually LOVING that there is a shutdown (as long as Trump is happy and he can whipsaw the stock market with his daily dump. And, they’ve taken over the Justice Dept, so it is literally the domestic civil/criminal arm of their soft coup from the inside.

Some of us dreamed about this Project 2025 soft coup, which was literally written down for all to see, BEFORE the election, but everyone believed the guardrails were sufficient. However, nobody seemed to believe Steven Millers wet dream for the Executive would pass the courts’ scrutiny! Well, Trump took care of that in his first term!

How long until someone takes a pop at him, if it gets bad I think him turning up in public might be risky, this isn’t 1930s Germany, there’s a lot of very powerful guns out there, if it turns nasty I’d say sooner rather than later he will not be safe.

I remember a friend of mine, a couple of years back now, asking if I'd heard of Project 2025; he's never been prone to rabbit-hole whimsy and New World Order deep dives, nonetheless I thought he'd sipped a little Kool Aid and was being melodramatic.

It's being fleshed out and enacted, literally to a tee. I owe him an apology.
