President Trump

Ah, now I know, miles is not a measure of distance but the number of downloads of a rock song. Got it. Are you sure you do not have a psychological need to be right or, at least, for everybody else to be wrong? So much so that you make up silly shit.
How far away is our sun? Most people will say 93 million miles rather than 8 light minutes. But, of course, they are wrong because miles is not a measure of distance. Only you know that, but you are so right, all the rest are just wrong.
Go have a lie down.
My card has "hill to die on" - and I'm feeling pretty confident about bingo!

How's Donald doing now? I saw a headline about 10% tarrifs is that good or bad for the world?
He's increased it to 15%. Certain sections of our media have stated we should allow him to use UK Air Bases to bomb Iran otherwise it may harm our' special relationship'. Just shows with him we don't have one

I don’t believe there ever was a special relationship, I’ve just rewatched The world at war ( brilliant series by the way), they never wanted to fight in Europe to help us and only did kicking and screaming after Pear Harbour. Then we spent decades paying money back to them for the help they did give us.

Breaking news...

Donald Trump has convened an emergency meeting of The Board of Peace to discuss details about the upcoming bombing campaign against Iran. Reporters will not be invited to the meeting, since top secret war plans will be discussed. Since some board members will not be able to attend in person, remote attendance will be possible using WhatsApp.

We don’t know if this will apply to UK who have the 10% trade deal yet. As is usual with anything Trump says is it lacks many things including detail. He has said he would expect countries with a trade deal to honour their side of the deal.

What a time to be alive.

Not if you are American

No there never was. Never has been. There is no reason why the US should have any regard for us. Since 1918 we have been dependent upon them so it has suited us to talk of said relationship. And since Suez in 1956 we have been unable to act without their support. But (with the honourable exception of Vietnam) we have felt obliged to be alongside every time they have gone to war in the largely forlorn hope of a pat on the head and a biscuit.

Anyone find this guy annoying, narcissistic and worst of all a bully? Or is this what Americans are like.

Not so. We were involved in Vietnam, but via the commonwealth. Australian soldiers were involved

It's a bit more nuanced than that. They'd been helping us with supplies (foods, metals, weapons etc) in the years building up to pearl harbour. The sinking of their supply ships was the reason the US govn needed to convince the American people to go to war.

And tbf American lives, thousands, we're lost in helping us defeat Germany.

I'm no fan of America but its clear to me (especially from watching World at War - which is brilliant) that we would not have won without them. Same with the first World War too.

Yep. The special relationship was originally about intelligence sharing only.

It was only Hitler declaring war on the US and a couple of battleships being attacked that convinced them to join in and send troops over
