Priced out? | Club announce that matchday tickets being reduced by up to 43% (p93)

Yeah, but it's another CL play off match. ;-)

Soriano isn't stupid. He knows the demand is there for £71 tickets, and the match is sure to sell out.(in the Villa away ends)
He is criminally stupid. He's prepared to piss off the core fan base, who'll turn up for midweek games against relegation fodder, in favour of a temporary few extra quid from people who'll desert us once we're not as successful anymore.

He's not concerned about any of that; his greatest attribute appears to be pulling the wool over normally clever people’s eyes. He will most likely piss off at the same time as the people you mentioned, and he will not give City a second thought. People who supposedly want City to be successful and sustainable for a long time, giving him carte blanche to do anything he wants, are, in my opinion, the ones being criminally stupid.

Soriano is using the/his Barcelona blueprint on Manchester City including the changing face of tourism fan world club football. His priority is tourist football fans and their spend. That's where the new and real football fan money is. As for City legacy fans, they aren't irrelevant to Soriano as they are the bread and butter of the club, but they aren't his main and overriding concern.

£71.00 for Villa on a Monday night!!!!!!
Ha Ha yeah right

Get to f*ck ****shakes head****
Roll up, roll up, get yer Villa tickets here. Yes it's fucking expensive, yes it's Monday night, and yes it will be moved if either club gets to the semis. But we won four in a row so you can't complain about the price.
Just like four in a row means you can't complain about some of the shite we've watched this season.

The thing is with all these tourists is they really must be easily pleased.

Most of our football has been stale and boring this year....if I was a neutral I'd never dream of putting one of our games at the top of my 'must do' list. Yes I suppose they can tick a box and say they've been but I'd for example rather have an unticked box than be board to death and lighter in the wallet watching Opera.

And let's not forget that there won't be any £30 tickets in SS3 for this one as, unlike Leicester, Villa will take the full allocation!

Do they actually watch the game though?

I don't think some of them are there for the outcome any more than screaming schoolgirls went to Beatles' concerts to hear the music. To some, City might as well be the boyband of the moment. They are there to wet their knickers over their favourite one and go home with a poster and a t-shirt. We have quite a photogenic team at the moment and football is getting the fangirl treatment. I was joking the other day when I said it felt like I was at K-Pop concert, but it turns out I was onto something! According to the M.E.N City has directly targeted K-Pop fans. And these days kids at gigs show their devotion not by screaming, but standing still, muttering between themselves and filming every moment rather than being in the moment. Maybe we'll all be getting friendship bracelets next, like they do at Taylor Swift...

I genuinely believe that unless there will be mass protests and walkouts, the club will just carry on increasing pricing and going down the road of aiming for tourists.

The club don't care about the fans financial predicament, they want maximum money for their product and unfortunately know they can get it via the tourist route.

If anyone has ever been to a resort abroad where tourists are kept apart from the poor locals we are slowly but surely becoming the poor locals.

Hell the club are even building a hotel for their "Special" guests :)
That hotel will only hold a tiny proportion of the 8,000 additional seats and will probably make more money from concerts.

Not necessarily. The tourists will only pick up so much of the slack. Empty seats will become more commonplace.

Profits first ehh?

Mind you we can always brag about it all whilst we are being fucked over I suppose there's that.
We needed investors. You don’t get those without profits and or / increase in business values. That’s part of the reality of being a well run football club as opposed to the shambles under Swales etc. It’s OK though because Swales was a Blue.

They want maximum money and don’t care about fans facing hardships, true. The other part of the truth is that tourists can only fill part of the ground and a majority of seats need to be taken by genuine Blues.
