Does anyone think we will see a fall In prices? Times are tough and never before has football needed fans.

Am I dreaming thinking £10 a game could happen?

I know everyone is saying it but VAR is killing it for me!

Never ever before have I felt more like picking and choosing the odd game rather than making it a habit.

Maybe at time that the ‘£20 Is Plenty’ campaign started up again?

I thought we left it far too late last time. Prices had already got to £35/game with a season card before the campaign took off. Also far too many fans just kept paying for those £50/60+ away games, although we finally did get those down to £30.

Sky etc has the Audacity too charge fans for PPV games during a pandemic so I don’t hold much faith. The prices in general at city haven’t been too bad I can’t imagine cheaper tickets. The demand will be high too go back

I think we’ll all be surprised. The football attending fans will have had 12-14+months of thousands of extra pounds to their name. That will sway many all over the country to stop going to the footy in the future.

From knowing lads even before all this who have fallen away from City’s support through being kicked out of their seats to make way for the Family Stand, others for new corporate areas, others because they have been priced out, others because they hate the match day experience stuff (and a few who’ve died)... I know over two dozen lads who’ve stopped going to City over the last decade, some were home+away die hard sand others were home attending fans going back to the 60s. And none of them miss it, and all prefer having the extra cash in their pocket.

Plus an ageing fan base like ours, in a Covid hotspot, may well have taken a huge hit from Covid. We may have lost a lot more fans than other clubs who seem to have larger younger generation sized fanbases.

I’m looking forward to getting back into the Etihad and I am not expecting a reduction in ticket prices. City should continue to make the domestic cup games very cheap to help to grow our fanbase again. Soriano and co will study the economy and see there are as many gainers as losers, financially, from the pandemic.

Although Prem away tickets are are £30 it’s the away days that are particularly expensive for me and I had already stopped going to all the aways over the last 18 months as it’s a lot of commitment. In addition, Bournemouth’s relegation (very high ticket points required) and some older Blues drifting away means i can just pick and choose which aways I do, even if I don’t particularly like going to the swamp or klanfield.

As soon as VAR came in I deliberately stopped going to games and haven't been to one since. However once fans are allowed back in I definitely intend to go as it's one of the many many things in life we took for granted before and I desperately want to feel that buzz of being in the ground again.

Unless VAR fucks off though I doubt i'll be making it a regular thing.
