I had forgotten how good they are.

A couple of year back I put Screamadelica on whilst I had a bath, 1st time in a god 5 years i had listened to an album start to finish,
Brilliant early days, some of the later i found hit n miss.

Im going to see them next Friday..Screamadelica tour....whilst its one of my fave albums, the live clips ive seen so far are a bit dodgy

great band but one of these groups (like The Fall) that you have to dip in and out of
some of their tracks are keek

I saw them in about 88 and went home early, they were shocking. Suddenly in 89 they discovered E and had the luckiest break of their career when they worked with Andy Weatherall who totally changed their sound to the blissed-out Ecstasy chill tunes of Screamadelica.

Since then I've not really rated much they've done but they can be occasionally brilliant.

I am in the tiny minority (probably of one) who still rate their Give Out, But Don't Give In album their best.....but then the full on 'rock' approach to that album is right up my street....

And have to say that like Mani's old band, often shite 'live'.

Primal Scream have done some outstanding songs but I'm still to enjoy one of their albums from start to finish. I can't get through Screamadelica, Vanishing Point, Give Out But... or Xtrmntr without wanting to put something else on. I'd prefer to listen to Spiritualized or British Sea Power.

A very hit and miss band. I thought Vanishing Point was a brilliant album but found listening to Xtrmntr a hideous experience, almost unlistenable.
Their albums are like their live shows, of which I have seen loads. They can be world beaters one night and shockingly bad the next. The great unpredictables, the City of rock and roll.
Agree with Quinny, though. Bobby G is a steppin' razor.
