Prince Philip involved in car crash

We don't know what the circumstances here are. I'm making an observation about how things are. People are quite happy to assume wrongdoing and quote the law as though they abide by it themselves. They just don't.

Let's take that example: at a junction, low sun. Sit there and wait for it to set or do your best and go? Anyone claiming the former I will call a liar.
Not disagreeing with you, it’s just not much of a defence in law as far as I know.

Who the fuck has ever driven and not be able to see? The only time I cant see is when there's a foot of snow on the windscreen and then I get the snow brush out.
I'm glad nobody ever drove blindly when I had my motorcycle on the road.

So I have looked on the government website for info but I can't seem to find what I am looking for ,I live on a busy rat run and I was wondering if there was a form you had to fill in to get prince Phillip to have an accident in your street so you can immediately get the speed limit dropped for safety reasons ?

After reviewing the info about a second car beingn involved and it being Phils fault, then I am having myself agree with Ķathy Burkes comments, what a selfish **** he is.

In the last few years he has had various health issues and at 97 any other person with such a history would have their license revoked, it's not like the man cannot afford a chaufer ffs.

And the bbc now have some 87 year old woman on to prove their is nowt wrong with driving when old, so far up the royals arses it's ridiculous

If really that bad, one could ask one’s passenger to pop out of the car and talk you out.

This “sun” defence appears to have come rather conveniently from a lawyer who specialises in slipperiness.

I hope he’s okay but if it had been one of our elderly relatives they’d probably still be sat in A&E waiting to be seen and the police would be asking them to drop in for a voluntary interview.

I'm not suggesting it's any kind of defence. It shouldn't be at all. Just that we've all been there.

The other forgotten party in this is the protection officer who accompanied him. He had no choice about getting in to the car. It would be more than his job was worth, to question Sir on his driving capabilities. Also I can’t believe there are certain posters on here happy to see a near 98 year old continue to drive despite his well documented ailments. It’s not about him anymore, it’s about the safety of the public at large. If he feels he has to get behind a wheel to prove something, there are enough private estates where the only persons at risk are the peasants who work on them, and,his own extended family.

I completely agree. What a selfish ****. He drove not because he needed to (to get to the shops, for example) but because he wanted to. At that age. Turning on to a 60 mph road. Utter, selfish madness.
