ROYAL runner Princess Beatrice has become a secret football fan after completing the London Marathon.

She has become hooked on Manchester City after sporting the club’s away strip with her team-mates in last Sunday’s race.

And she may even go to watch the Blues and their big-name players, including Carlos Tevez.

One pal said: “During training she watched a couple of City games and she was really excited.

Bea’s talking about going to see them now and it looks like she’s becoming a real fan.”

The princess and a group of pals – including Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson’s children Holly and Sam – completed the 26.2mile course roped together wearing the City shirts and bright green ballet tutus.

They raised more than £250,000 for 13 different charities and good causes.

But palace killjoys criticised Bea for breaching rules banning royal advertising and sponsorship. Royal protocol dictated that the princess had to cover up the sponsorship logos on the black and yellow shirt.

But Manchester City is owned by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who bankrolled Sir Richard’s space shuttle project Virgin Galactic to the tune of £180million.

One palace aide said: “She was running with his children in the kit of a club owned by his business partner.

“He should just go the whole hog and paint her on the side of one of his planes.”

To be fair to the lass, she could hardly wear advertising from Branson's company. Might have got done under the trade descriptions act.
