I would want someone to pay ME 5 grand to drive around with a number plate with my name on it, the whole concept of it is immature, narcissistic and just plain shit.

I bought my plate for just under a grand when the day that the DVLA released the cherished "C "plates and it is worth a lot more than that now, not that I intend to sell, so it has been a worthwhile investment; and it beats hanging a little City shirt in your back window.

Not true at all. My sister gave me some plates for x-mas years ago, they're on the wifes car now (only because I need truck plates for mine). Doesn't make her a twat and says fuck all about how succesfull she is. $250.00 cdn is what they cost to buy here.

At 1.70CDN to the pound right now £147 seems very reasonable - I paid the flat DVLA £250 fee for mine over 10 years ago which included the £85 reg fee and vat too - since I seem to often splurge hundreds of notes on stuff my wife can only shake her head at in despair, I think that's reasonable too...

Those plates probably cost about 70 quid at the time.
 
i have had a few in my time dont see anything wrong in them look good on the right car, i have got C17Y GM im not using if anyboby wants it pm me.

Like I said, its fuck all to do with the likes of you what people spend their money on. If you can buy 10 well good for you, I'm pleased for you. But its a name on a car plate, thats it!! whats the big deal?

The idea is that some cars can appear newer than what they really are if they have a private plate. It shouldn't matter and there isn't really any logic for this. That said, I wonder how many people would accept this years brand new model from a dealer, if he said it could only be supplied with a plate from 4 years ago? Those that wouldn't accept this are just as guilty for vanity as anyone with a personalised plate.

Why cant you do me the honour of reading what I say before replying, I said in a later post that people have a right to spend theyre money on private plates and it doesnt bother me if they do, live & let live, I wouldnt do it for quids but there you go....what I took umbrage with is your daft post saying were all jealous of you and we dont have proper jobs......

My missus has LE11 ZEP on her car, as she a Led Zeppelin nut...it does actually look great, and before the haters hate, it cost just £250 from DVLA...so not a 'look I'm wealthy' statement...jus' showing her lover for her heroes...

I have 46u3r0 if that helps? I was going to go for something readable like AGUERO however I thought I can get the same effect with a mix of numbers and letters.

What do you think of it?
