Proof that the Media makes up **** (SuperAgent Jose Alberti)

Finally have proof that the media simply makes up shit. A recent article, citing an "important FIFA agent" named Jose Alberti claiming that Tevez is already an Inter player is totally made-up. This agent is quoted as saying on Tevez to Inter:

But Alberti insists that deal will go through, paving the way for Tevez to agree a short-term stint at the San Siro.

"Am I sure? Of course, I have said this for months," Alberti told IlSussidiario.net.

"Sneijder will go to United and Inter Milan will reinvest the money in the transfer for Tevez.

"El Apache (Tevez) will arrive in Milan on loan for the following terms - £13million immediately, and the same number at the end of next season.

"Inter will take home a successful and experienced champion."

So I did some googling on Jose Alberti, and sure enough, "he's" described as everything from an agent to a South American Football expert. I found this on a West Ham blog:

Who is Jose Alberti?

Sky and The Telegraph are both picking up on yesterday's story that Jose Alberti thinks Luca Toni will join West Ham,

'I think it will happen. At Bayern (Toni) is not playing and Zola is a great friend of his.'

The media continue to report that Jose Alberti is Luca Toni's agent when he clearly isn't. Luca Toni's agent is Tullio Tinti.

So who is this Jose Alberti? Jose Alberti is a name used continuously on Goal.com to appear to give credence to otherwise speculative stories. Goal.com describe Alberti's job in a number of ways, depending on the subject of the story. He has been called a 'talent scout and transfer consultant', a 'South American football expert' and in yesterday's story Goal.com called him an 'Argentine agent'.

This seems to be where the confusion started. Goal.com, in its story, clearly strongly implied that Jose Alberti was Toni's agent to give credence to what was really a wildly speculative claim that was very unlikely ever to happen. The website however never actually said that Alberti was Toni's agent, just that he was an agent.

The rest of the media, perhaps knowingly to give credence to their own repetition of this wild claim that Toni will join West Ham, have missed this subtle implication and have gone on to report that Alberti is Toni's agent.

Aberti is not Toni's agent. Luca Toni will not be joining West Ham.

Now this super important South American Football expert has no profile to be found anywhere on the net other than quotes in articles on Goal.com and tribalfootball.com.

Funny stuff! Hopefully City fans can finally realize that most of what is written in the press is speculation with clever wording to make it seem like it's realistic.

Have you actually ever seen this guy with your own eyes though? I can't find a youtube clip of him anywhere. There apparently was a José Alberto Percudani who played for Napoli who was an Argentinian striker. However, the articles online specifically refer to a Jose Alberti and not Alberto.

This Jose Alberti was called out by Luca Toni's real agent, Tullio Tinti, as an imposter. I have verified that Tullio is a registered FIFA agent here:

Luca Toni’s agent slams impostor
August 19, 2009

Tullio Tinti, the agent of Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni , has lambasted an impostor called Jose Alberti for speaking publicly about his player and threatened him with legal action.

Toni is believed to be on his way out of Bayern Munich after falling out of favour with head coach Louis van Gaal and Alberti claimed recently that the Italian international was set for a return to his homeland with Roma.

Tinti said: "I don't know Jose Alberti. The player's affairs are managed only by me, Alberti's words are untrue and I distrust this person, who I don't know, to talk about a situation which does not concern him."

The Italian agent, who also represents Pippo Inzaghi, Alberto Paloschi and Andrea Pirlo, added: "Should he continue, I'll use legal action. A person who presents himself as a manager of a person who they don't represent damages their credibility."

On Toni’s immediate future, Tinti also said: "At this moment, there are no negotiations. Luca is a Bayern Munich player and he's currently recovering from an inflamed tendon."

He's an agent in the deal for Zarate to Arsenal.

He's also apparently Lavezzi's agent as well.

Here it's claimed that he was a former player for Napoli, although as mentioned, there was a Jose Alberto Percudani who was an argentinian striker who played for Napoli. Mind you he's only in his 40s, so wouldn't be the old man in the picture referenced.

Claimed that Dzeko to Milan was 100% done before the World Cup:

Acting as a "transfer market insider" for Napoli here advising on Douglas Costa.

http://www.footballpress.net/?action=read&idsel=83667

Stated in January that Alexis Sanchez was 100% an Inter player.

<a class="postlink" href="http://translate.google.ca/translate?hl=en&sl=it&u=http://www.cuoreinter.net/t17916-jose-alberti-sanchez-va-all-inter-al-100-non-so-quando-pero&ei=UUk8TqOyGcLf0QGK2ZnBAw&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CB8Q7gEwAA&prev=/search%3Fq%3DJose%2BAlberti%2BSanchez%2Binter%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1280%26bih%3D662%26prmd%3Divnso" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://translate.google.ca/translate?hl ... md%3Divnso</a>

He is constantly referred to as a leading transfer market agent/insider/etc. He seems to be involved in every major transfer involving an Italian team, yet not a single profile anywhere on him. Seems a little odd, no? He's made all of these Italian TV appearances, yet I can't find a single clip of him on youtube?
