For showing an image of the Prophet Muhammad to children.

Stupid thing to do or freedom of speech?
Keep in mind, three quarters of the school children are from an Ethnic minority background
We’ve seen this before with worse outcomes!
The fence is over there....i’m sitting comfortably on it.

Unbelievably stupid and deliberately provocative. It's really hard to have much sympathy when people do this and then shit happens, regardless of the rights and wrongs it's exactly what you know will happen (and I suspect the reaction is why they do it in the first place).

If I go into a pub and tell the biggest guy there his wife is a fat slag, I wouldn't expect much sympathy if he kicked the shit out of me. If he was a guy known for kicking the shit out of people who insult his wife, I'd be inclined to suggest I got exactly what I was after

I find religious people gathering and demanding action because they’ve been insulted, to be particularly insulting.

Am I allowed to protest this, because like them, my feelings have been hurt seeing this? In fact, can I ask the religious ringleader to be removed from their position, due to their offensive nature?

I never knew that you can’t show an image of this prophet. Didn’t have a clue.

I know that French newspaper showed a cartoon depiction of a naked Muhammad so can see why there was an issue what that (but not worth being fucking murdered over!), but what was shown in this case?

It could just be lack of knowledge rather than being provocative. It could just be that the image was completely innocently used as an example to corroborate what was being talked about. What’s wrong with that?

And who’s to say who can and can’t show images of certain people anyway? Is it the law?

I think unless they do something illegal you'd be on dodgy ground - religion is a protected characteristic under the equality act (I think).

The teacher should have known better. You have to have been living under a rock to not know that characterising the prophet Mohammed incurrs the wrath of the most backward people on the planet. They need to get into the 21st century pronto and whilst they’re at it they might want to drag the Jews, Catholics, Protestants....etc with them.

Chances are the reaction is one that was expected, its not as though there's no precedent for something similar in the past.
Region eh! How lucky we all are to have it have such a grip on the modern world...
