Protests outside a Batley School

Anyone else noticed no women and full of young men

Its in Batley not bradford , its near me and a local charity actually named the teacher on Facebook

Then the same guy was on talk radio and took him a few times to say beheading was worse

But they’re protesting and threatening violence against something that’s legal. Freedom of thought and expression.

If they can have someone removed for not doing something illegal, why can’t I?
You can all excersise your freedom as much as you like mate. The Charlie Hebdo lot published a picture of Jesus coming out of Marys **** previously. Obviously having only recieved a few complaints they looked for pastures new. It appears their picture of the prophet did the trick. I wish all atheists with a chip on their shoulder well in their quest to exercise their rights :-)

I’ve read this happened in a Religious Studies lesson, so my guess is the teacher must be qualified enough to know that your not allowed to show a picture of the Prophet in the muslim religion.
If that’s the case then fair enough, but even then, there could be context to this that is innocent.

Given that he died 1500 years ago how does anyone know what he looks like?
This for me mate. Had the same conversation with the Mrs yesterday after they were on about it in Radio 2. How does anyone know what he looked like? Don’t think selfies were around 1500 years ago. I’m not thick but I genuinely don’t understand how you can be offended by something when you don’t actually know what said person looked or acted like.

Beheading probably isn't worse than taking the piss out of the prophet in Islamic law tbh. That's what folk don't seem to get. To us it's just a picture, in Islamic terms it's much more than that and they are just as convinced that their view is correct as we are.

Its a Christian country not a Islamic country

Surely the topic could have been discussed without showing images of the prophet Mohamed? In fact it would have made for a better discussion as the Muslim pupils could have explained why to them it is so upsetting. Enlightenment and understanding all round.

The teacher must have been living in a cave not to know that by showing the images it would cause a backlash. To add more controversy I believe the images shown were copies of the Charlie Hebdo cartoons.
