PS3 Red light of death

It happened to mine last year. Got it fixed at spyworld, who warned me it's not an absolute fix and that it will break down again. Mine lasted another 6 months and it went again. So had to buy the slimmer one in which the problem doesn't occur. My advice - get another.

Agree, get another. Ring Sony and see what they will offer - the PS3 slim is less susceptible to this error. Sony wanted £120 off me to replace with either an equivalent phat PS3 60Gb or a 120GB slim.

on my fourth now, had one of the originals brand new from almost day 1, that died last december, after speaking with sony and paying them x amount they sent another the next day. that lasted til june just gone, same again but i didn't need to pay as it was one of their re-conditioned one's, number 3 arrived the following day and lasted ..............21 fcuking days. this time really kicked off, fair enough its free again, but i then have to spend hours updating the bloody thing and re-installing everything i've lost. lets see how long this one goes?

I remember all the Sony PS2/3 owners taking the piss out of Xbox red light of death sufferers and now it seems it happens to you as well!
So we're both in the same boat after all, the only difference being that Microsoft swapped mine, reconditioned for old whereas Sony tell you to go f**k yourself.
