PSG (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

How do you know, do you have a crystal ball or are you just being pessimistic.
Tbf that is a concern.
We’ve seen many players have ACL’s and not been as good after.

Modern operation techniques give you a better chance than 20 years ago.
Especially thinking back to how they ruined Paul Lake and how bad the treatment was in his day.

But it’s not an injury where you’re guaranteed to come back the same.

Let’s hope he does though.

How long have we got to get Nunes and Rico off the wage bill?
It’s not just them though., Kovacic for the fukin love of god is the most press unristant midfielder ever! He’s absolutely turd under pressure and gives it away when he’s not so many times. Useless! He can run as fast as me towing a caravan on my back! Ditto akanji, silva does more pirouettes than swan lake and then passes backwards! Can’t tackle and has zero strength. Foden went missing again. When the fuck is that lad gonna believe in himself and get hold of the ball with arrogance and attitude! Dias decided he was better on the bench or risk getting sent off. De bruyne, petulant waving of arms only comes from someone who’s so frustrated with themselves that the only outlet is to blame others. His corners for a quality crosser are fukin amateur. And that goes for foden and grealish and anyone else that takes our corners. Haaland did nothing apart from a tap in. For a big guy he dosnt half get out muscled or is too soft with his strength and size. So many things wrong with personnel and attitude. It’s a team I don’t recognise from not so long ago.

Come on, he's hardly there soaking up the praise for a goal that ended up meaning nothing. He's very honest in his assessment and not at all looking like he's there for the limelight. It's no privilege to be the face of a humiliating defeat.

I know they speak to all of them and just show us the ones where players actually engage with them, and if Jack plays it's often him because he just talks to them. But I would have liked to hear those words coming from one of our captains.
His whole demeanour when he scored the goal , he was dogshite yet again for his minutes on the pitch , and I’d sell him tomorrow tbh , he’s been bang average for over twelve months now

It's a crying shame that some of these guys that have given some of our greatest ever moments, are now a pale shadow of their former selves. Getting the 4 in a row was historic and it's taken its toll....mentally and physically I presume. It's hard reading what some are saying about some of our greatest ever players. We can all see the issues we have. with hindsight maybe we should have had a summer refresh and got fresh legs in....maybe Pep should have ended his time here with the 4 timer....its all ifs and buts.
None of us could have guessed we'd be this poor this season though.
ITs a shame and it's a very painful season but I trust the club and Pep to get it sorted some shape, hopefully in these next few windows. Surely they know we need legs and some pace in midfield especially! I bloody hope so anyway!

The shit show started at Wembley last season and nothing is happening to change it.

Madness trying the same thing game after game. I'm not paid to find a solution but I do know banging my head against a wall will never work and just keep hurting.

If we get into the playoffs are the new signings eligible to play or can't they be registered until the last 16?

Anyone know?
Don't know if its been answered, but I believe you are allowed to register a maximum of three new players for the next stage
But I don't know if that's the play off or from the knockout stage

Not sure where to start after that

We were quite fortunate to be 2 up on the balance of play. Akanji and Nunes did well for them.

We have no idea how to keep the ball around midfield anymore and take the sting out of a game.
Once PSG got the first I think everyone knew what was coming, including our players by their body language.

Ederson and Silva have to go in the sumer. Ones head isn't here and the others legs aren't.

Nunes went from looking a great right back to an absolute shambles in two minutes

Rico Lewis, i'm sorry i feel i'm being harsh on the lad, but he's a piss poor defender and anytime he's on the opposition are going to score plenty.

Peps subs were strange and at strange times. Taking off your right back when defending a free kick, guess what - a goal is scored when the ball is swung into the right back area and there;s no one there.
Almost got the feeling he didn't think the game really mattered that much with his subs.

Its embarrassing where we are in the table, and not beyond the realms of possibility that we fail to beat Brugge next week and exit, the way our seasons going.

I also feel that even if we get through, we'll get well and truly hammered over two legs once we meet a top team.

Please pep I beg of you to not play kovacic anymore, he is a walking (literally) disaster. Put nico in that position now as he cannot do any worse. Never seen such an experienced player at the top level drop so many bollocks and give the ball away as much as he does

Ederson, Akanji, Stones, Rico,, Gundogan, Bernardo, Nunes , Grealish , Kovacic....Add to that KDB

There is 10 to go in summer.
Its a massive rebuild, all good things come to an end, those players have been brilliant for City though.

We cant afford any Phillips or Nunes type signings which really puts the pressure on.

I have said it for months, there will be no change with Guardiola in charge. The system has been rumbled, he has coached any self expression out of his players, and most now don't give a feck! That capitulation and the lack of collective effort was woeful, and the like of which can only be seen in teams where players no longer believe in their manager.

Frankly, it's become embarrassing on a global scale. As a young blue in the late 70's and 80's, I could handle being shit, I could handle having shit players, and I was never upset by defeat, because at least they pulled on the shirt and tried. Not only can I hardly recognise my clubs shirt, those that wear it are just overpaid, self-indulgent imposters who don't give a toss about City.

If we do somehow beat Brugge and qualify is it just a straight forward draw and we can get any of the other teams or is it seeded ?

9th or 10th v 23rd or 24th
11th or 12th v 21st or 22nd
13th or 14th v 19th or 20th
15th or 16th v 17th or 18th

Teams in 9th to 16th are at home in the second leg.

We can finish 19th to 24th - I think.
